Work of the Governing Body

There are three termly meetings and three interim meetings each academic year.  The termly meetings address the LA agenda, which include national and local issues and priorities.  Interim governor meetings focus on curriculum, inset and school based issues.

Governors have established working committees, which meet prior to Governors meetings.  These include; Learning, Assessment & Achievement Committee, Behaviour & Safety Committee and Leadership & Management Committee.  The committee structure allows more opportunity for governors to actively focus and contribute to the monitoring and evaluation process.

This is an overview of Committees, areas they are responsible for and some opinions from existing governor from these committees:-

  • LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE – responsible for Finance, Staffing and Personnel, Performance Management and Staff Pay, Governor Training, Self Evaluation and School Improvement.
